Rhyming book about acceptance, March 23, 2014

This review is from: Lamby the Lonely Lamb (Kindle Edition)
Lamby the Lonely Lamb is a beautifully written and illustratred children's story about the need for everyone to be accepted for who they are. Poor Lamby is purple and none of the other little lambs want to play with him. Lamby is very lonely. After Lamby saves the other little lambs from a mean wolf, the other lambs want to play with him but Lamby was to accepted for just who he is.

One day Lamby gets his wish.

This is a wonderful book about being different and the need for acceptance of difference.

Nothing fishy about this delightful story!, November 30, 2014

  5 STARS
This review is from: Jerry the Crabby Crayfish (Kindle Edition)
If anyone thought fish and waterlife were boring, well, think again. Not in this entertaining story. It is more than just a rhyming story about crayfish. This pleasantly illustrated picture book includes both a wonderful lesson and information that will interest young children. The rhythm and pulse throughout the book produces a strong chant that children fall into naturally. The illustrations are sweet and simple, and they charmingly create a personality for each character. The brightly colored pictures are done in a style that is very close to that of children’s drawings, and nicely introduce children to the fascinating world of fish. This joyfully illustrated book is a lot of fun to read and leaf through. A great rhyming story that stays on your lips long after you are done with it. "Swish, swish, swish, I wish I were a fish!"

Janice Spina has created another wonderful book full of playful, funny, whimsical characters, one that entertains and promotes individuality. Although it is sometimes hard to be yourself, it is always the best rule. Imagination should be encouraged in children, and this book beautifully illustrates the concept for them. A great and entertaining book for young readers!

"Read it Again!", September 10, 2014

This review is from: Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon (Paperback)
I think the words of five-year-old J.C. say it best: "Read it again!" Janice Spina's "Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon" tells a lovely story in rhyme while gently teaching a lesson about rules. The illustrations are perfect with the story, thanks to the other half of the Spina duo, husband John. The Spinas obviously understand what will interest children, how long the story should be, and how to create suspense without scaring young minds. I look forward to sharing more of Janice and John Spina's children's books with the little ones and hearing them say "Read it again" each time.

Good book for curious children, November 24, 2014
By
  5 Stars
Jesse is a baby polar bear who not only likes to ask a lot of questions, but also questions the status quo of all the things around him.

As tough as it is sometimes, his mother lets him express his opinions and just once in a while, lets him get away with certain things that are contrary to a polar bear’s best judgment.

In the end, mama's patience pays off, as Jesse is saved by a dear friend that he would not have, had he followed traditional rules.

The book teaches little ones (and their parents) that sometimes, not everything has to be the way it has always been. It also reminds us to breathe deeply every time our little one asks us repeatedly why, why, why, why???

Review of BROOSE THE MOOSE ON THE LOOSE!
By Sarah M - Kid Book Reviewer on March 12, 2015
Format: Paperback
A lonely moose whose name was Broose
Was sad and knew no joy
Until one day, a lucky day
He bumped into a boy

What to know what happened then? Read the book!''''

The fabulous children's books author Janice Spina and husband, the incredibly talented illustrator John Spina, once again, bring to life a wonderful animal character, a friendless young moose who is shunned by other moose because of his facial disfigurement. The Spinas entertain young readers as they convey important life lessons about friendship and kindness.

Highly and warmly recommended.
Be sure to check out Team Spina’s other children books: “Jerry the Crabby Crayfish”, “Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear”, “Lamby the Lonely Lamb”, and “Louey the Lazy Elephant”.

REVIEW OF SEBASTIAN MEETS MARVIN THE MONKEY

Format: Kindle Edition
Do you want to know how a mobile phone ring will affect zoo animals? I am not giving it away! You will be amazed when you read this book. Let me suffice to say that your little person will be introduced to many different zoo animals. That in itself will be fun enough. But what are those animals doing? Guess! Nice monkey business, Janice!

Award-winning author Janice Spina, in her newest joint effort with husband John, continues to encourage children to read, by publishing yet another adorable children's book that entertains as it delivers an important value. Amateur sleuhs David and Derek, two twins as opposite as they can be, accompanied by their assistant Mickey, code named CAT, are off to discover the mystery behind Christine's cell phone (she swears she put it in her backpack at school buty it vanished) Being an adult mystery writer - THE CASE OF THE MISSING CELL PHONE - book 1
in an upcoming series- is all a mystery should be - a lot of clues - a few dead ends - and ending that fooled me. All you parents and grandparents this is a great book for all those m iddle grade kids you worry about - might even get them away from that cell phone and video games.

This review is from: Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series Book 2: The Case of the Mysterious Black Cat (Kindle Edition)

Being a grandparent and an avid reader I am always on the lookout for good clean books for my grandkids. Davey and Derek's Aunt and Uncle settle in town after years of worldly travel, but there is something different about the Aunt that sets her apart from most Aunts - she is a good witch blessed with the gift of magic - one of which is her long deceased cat whoes aura lives on in a crystal ball and still tries to help people. Davey and Derek learn they to have a few magical powers of their own one of which is the cat trying to communicate with them and warn them one of their friends is going to get into serious trouble. The question is can they use this magic and prevent a catastrophy? Cute story - clean- refreshing - and not preachy. The Case of the Mysterious Black Cat will keep a young mind intrigued and reading way past their bedtime.

This review is from: Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series Book 3: The Case of the Magical Ivory Elephant (Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
The twins Davey & Derek are at it again! Who stole the figurine from the museum & how is it connected to Aunt Gigi's Ivory Elephant Figurine? This is the first book I have read of Janice's & LOVED it! I was a Beta Reader for her & received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This is a great book for kids who enjoy adventures. I LOVED Nancy Drew & the Hardy Boys series as a young girl. Davey & Derek are the next generation of young Detectives, in my opinion. Great work Janice!!
